AI is a gathering storm. Society will need to retool to accommodate this force that will soon be far more capable than all humans combined. Many pundits fear that AI will undermine society with mass layoffs and tireless surveillance.
But what if “we the people” worked to use AI to keep AI in check? What if we empower and transform ourselves, with AI, into a political force powerful enough to get “a seat at the table”? We could then insist that our future be more of a “fully automated luxury communism” than a “techno-feudalism.”
Let’s think about an AI made by the people and for the people. How would this technology provide us with trusted information and lift us out of our current post-truth, socio-political paralysis?
