Great American Cleanup (on our adopted section of creek)

Hello Everyone!

Join us for a creek cleanup event sponsored by the Colorado Springs Great American Cleanup. PPA has adopted a segment of Sand Creek that is between Stetson Hills and Barnes Road, and we will spend two hours cleaning up as much trash as we can find.

Please dress for the weather but remember that pants and long sleeves help protect your skin from scratches. Closed toe shoes are required. I also recommend sun protection and a reusable water bottle. I’ll bring supplies (gloves, trash bags, buckets, a few grabbers), a first aid kit, and a large water jug for refilling your water bottles. Please reach out to me with any questions.

When you arrive, use the Stetson Park parking lot and then walk west to the back of the park. I will be parked directly behind the elementary school. We’ll review the safety guidelines and pass out supplies before splitting up onto the trail.
