Let’s Hike! Mount Falcon Park

Mount Falcon Park is a short drive out of town, offering scenic views of Downtown Denver and Mount Evans. The trail we’ll be following includes an old renovated cabin, a lookout tower, the ruins of John Brisben Walker’s “castle” (burned down in 1918), and the foundation and cornerstone for what Mr. Walker wanted to be the Summer White House for the President of the United States.

We will meet at the upper parking lot on the west side trailhead. Note that there is a parking lot and trailhead on the east at the base of Mt Falcon. We will not be meeting there.

We’ll take this hike a bit slower than some others to take in the view at various points of interest. Also note that we’ll be starting from the WEST side of the park. Arrive early to avoid parking issues.
